March 2007 - News Bulletin
Election Results:
The Directors would like to thank all candidates who stood for election to the positions of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the League Representatives committee. Keith Matthews has been elected Chairman and Ted Shillitto has been elected Vice-Chairman. The next meeting for League Representatives is on Saturday 21 st April 2007. There is also a meeting for all League Scrutineers on 21 st April.
Green Flags:
The rules printed in this years members handbook regarding the meaning of the green flag are wrong! The correct meaning of the green flag for 2007 is that it is a final warning for dangerous driving and only one such warning will be given to a driver in any one race. This has been discussed fully at the league marshalls and safety officers meetings. There can be NO VARIATION for any reason during the 2007 season. However, the directors are asking that the league chairmen, marshals and safety officers find out their members opinions and bring them to a future discussion (at Walsall) when a genuinely national version can be agreed for implementation in 2008. In the meantime it is important that the rule is applied consistently at all NASA events. For guidance please contact director Terry Williams.
Officials Insurance Cover:
The directors are pleased to confirm that insurance cover has now been extended to cover officials over the age of 70 years. However, there are reduced personal accident benefits, with which anyone who is over that age and intends to officiate should familiarise themselves. Details can be obtained from director Gordon Harries, as with all matters relating to insurance.
Rockingham:
Following a new proposal for a completely different event from the original concept, the directors have agreed that the East Anglian and Fenland Leagues may run a closed-to-league promotional event at the venue on 15 th and 16 th September 2007. Club and league members will be able to obtain details in the near future.
