Risk assessments:
The directors have asked a representative of the sports insurers to compile a basic risk assessment list to be available for every club to complete as part of health and safety measures at each track. This will be considered alongside the excellent work already submitted by Drew Dunn and it is hoped that a national standard document will be available for all affiliated clubs in the near future.
Late Details:
With the season already under way, it is almost unbelievable that some clubs and leagues have still not submitted the required names and addresses of their officials. Can any club or league that has not done so please contact immediately director Margaret Allen (treasurers) or NASA secretary Maureen Boyd (all other information).
Scrutineering Queries:
These continue to arise, but could any genuine questions please be directed to Derek Hardy (Dougal) the national chief scrutineer, or Gordon Harries (director in charge of scrutineering), whose phone numbers are in the fixture book.
On a happier note:
All of last years national champions qualify to race at this years nationals, so long as they are still competing in the same class, are members of the same club and hold the same racing number. However, the directors realise that some car numbers are earned by winning club championships and are not necessarily carried forward to the next year. Such a situation has arisen with Paul Cusack (who won class three as MA1), in view of the circumstances, the directors have agreed that he may take his place as retiring champion at this years nationals using the number MA6.
