Weight Distribution - Classes 4 (rwd), 5(rwd), 7, 8, 9 & 10:
The NASA Board of Directors have made the following ruling - for 2008, it is highly recommended that all of the above mentioned cars run the front/rear weight split of 33%/67%. All and any wheel lifting (wheelies) must be black flagged with no exceptions. Cars pulling wheelies must then be checked for front/rear weight ratio and will not be permitted to race until they meet the recommended 33/67 split. Additionally all cars must be capable of manouvering at any speed without additional assistance (i.e: no "helpers" putting extra weight on the front) - any car observed with a person on the front to enable it to steer (at low speed) will be black flagged and prohibited from racing. If these measures do not eliminate wheelies, additional mandatory measures will be introduced in 2009.
Start grids:
For 2008 the maximum number of cars in all classes for any start grid is eight. Cars must be evenly spaced across the grid and startlines must remain the same width as at present. The purpose of this is to lessen the likelihood of collisions at the start of a race.
BAS 2008:
The dates and locations that have been prematurely published have not yet been agreed by the Directors. Members are advised that they should await further information before making commitments to travel or booking their holidays.
Disciplinary Matters:
After request from his home league (Shropshire) following an incident of deliberate contact on-track, Mr David Evans has not appealed a ban from holding a drivers licence for the remainder of the 2007 season.
NEC 2008:
Many thanks to the large number of drivers who have volunteered to take part in the Live Action Arena in January 2008. There are no more places available, so please do not apply if you have not already done so. More news of the event will be posted as soon as it is known.
